Krav Maga – Real World Solutions to Real World Violence (Tuttle Publishing), details the fundamental and foundational movements and techniques of Krav Maga e.g., stances, how to move effectively and safely, how to block and strike, as well as how to combine strikes (both upper and lower body combatives) to set up throws and takedowns etc. The book also looks at certain self-defense scenarios, such as street robberies, muggings and abductions. Threats, attacks, and assaults, which are classified as premeditated acts of violence i.e., those that are planned and deliberately/actively orchestrated. The processes that such offenders use to gain access to those they victimize are also described, so that readers are educated as to how to predict, prevent and avoid acts of violence before they occur. Defenses against weapon threats and attacks (knife and gun) are also presented along with how to deal and respond to a variety of unarmed attacks. The photographs in the book were shot in full color, with techniques and solutions being demonstrated dynamically against “assailants” making full speed and power attacks. This gives the book a realism that is lacking in many martial arts books where techniques are demonstrated statically, in stages.

Krav Maga – Tactical Survival (Tuttle Publishing), builds on the strikes and blocks detailed in Krav Maga – Real World Solutions to Real
World Violence (Tuttle Publishing), detailing hook punches, elbow strikes and headbutts etc. The book also explains when, where and
why you would use certain strikes, punches, elbows, and kicks over others. The book’s focus is on dealing with social, or spontaneous
violence, where individuals become aggressive, assaultive and potentially violent in response to the actions and behaviors of others
e.g., they believe that somebody is challenging their status, hitting on their partner, cutting in front of them in a line/queue, or
has spilt a drink over them etc. Often these types of violent incidents and events have a longer and protracted, “Pre-Conflict” phase
that is characterized by shouting, threats and posturing etc., before the person engages in a direct physical attack. Knowing how to act
and operate in this phase of the conflict, means that it is possible to re-direct the conflict so it doesn’t become physical. Effective
and proven de-escalation strategies are described and detailed in order to accomplish this.
Krav Maga – Extreme Survival (Tuttle Publishing), looks at three types of extreme violence: Active Shooter/Killer scenarios, Home Invasions
and Car-Jackings etc. Although less common that street robberies and social/spontaneous acts of violence, these events have greater potential
consequences and are more likely to result in serious injury, extreme psychological trauma and even death. Each type of violence, and the
solutions to them, are presented in a non-sensational and academically researched manner. The book is evidentially based with the section on
active shootings and killings having undergone a systematic review of existing research and an investigation of over 140 incidents. This has
resulted in an exploration and comparison of common features in such events along with an examination of outlying factors etc. The solutions
presented in the book have been proven to be effective in real-life situations and improve the survival chances of those who employ them. The
solutions and techniques to deal with types of attacks, such as pushes and shoves that are used in home-invasions are also applicable to
other situations as well.
